The Start of Something... Great?

I'm very passionate about beginnings. It is always exciting to me when someone I know embarks on an adventure or a project or a new relationship or even a new state of mind. For me it is "new" that is exciting in almost any form:

1. Trying a new restaurant.

2. Jumping on NBC on Demand and watching a show for the first time.

3. Meeting new people.

You get the idea.

New things are fun. I'm not sure what it is that gives it such flavor. Maybe it's the unknown that rests with new things. It is unknown what the experience holds, so it is the adventure of discovery, or the act of uncovering the unknown that is exciting? Seeing what lies beneath, perhaps? Like a child unwrapping a birthday gift - eyes wide, heart racing, mouth watering - he doesn't know what is in store for him; but there is something about believing something good waits for him on the other side.

I think that describes me here.

But there is something about believing something good waits for me on the other side. It's not as though I have never blogged before. No, this is not the first time I have taken this adventure on. But the excitement still fills me. So what if I am like an 8-year old opening a gift. He has done it 7 times before, but the excitement still swells within.

I awoke this morning with the excitement swelling within.

So here I am... again... for the first time ever once more.

And I'm excited to see what waits for me.
